WizNews: Issue 14
Airtags, Gatorade, Yeti and more.
Dear Team Wiztoonz,
Welcome to the 14th issue of our weekly newsletter.
I want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares, as opposed to ugly things. That's my intent." - Saul Bass
ART: A beautiful example of meta-art. Gatorade built this technology from scratch just for an ad. 2,500 switches turn the water on and off, and motion capture tells it what to do. The results are incredible.
DESIGN: The London Underground map is one of the most iconic examples of design thinking in the world. Designed by Harry Beck in 1931, the map was inspired by circuit diagrams. Now, the map could be getting a revamp!
VFX: Peregrine Labs’ YETI is a powerful tool (Maya Plugin) for creating procedural fur and geometry. Yeti 4.0 is here and the features are amazing.
VFX: Weta Digital’s Anders Langlands (Visual Effects Supervisor) and Simeon Duncombe (Animation Supervisor) break down the Darkseid battle in the Snyder Cut, explain how this is different from the Whedon Cut, and show the different visual effects and motion capture they used to make it happen. Watch the video
DESIGN: Here’s a collection of Marc Andrew’s most popular UI & UX tips from the past few months that can, with little effort, help improve both your designs and the overall user experience.
TECH: Here’s the complete product lineup Apple announced in today’s event. Check out the Airtags particularly- no it’s not a joke!
That’s all for today! Cuidate
