WizNews: Issue 1
Welcome to our weekly newsletter
Dear Team Wiztoonz,
Let me introduce you to a newsletter platform, substack. Was trying to figure out a really good solution to share important technology updates with the team and found this domain to be really helpful. While we figure out other future applications of this platform where we can include students or even potential queries to our mailing list, I will be collating and sending weekly tech news in this mailing list - news that will help you in your daily work and also while communicating with prospects.
Thank you! Read on for this week’s stories!
DESIGN (via hiran.substack.com): Ever since I saw Michael Bierut's TED talk on 'London Underground Map,' it became my favorite example for the statement 'Design is Problem Solving.' The video mentions three primary principles for solving problems using design - focusing on target user, simplicity, and thinking in a cross-disciplinary way.
DESIGN (via hiran.substack.com): For interface designers, Figma just introduced the Variants feature, building a design system closer to the coding pattern. I found it simple and powerful, something that brings a lot of clarity to design. (I always doubted how to arrange variants - size, state, type or state, size, style..! this is going to solve that!)
VFX: Here’s an informative article about the future of Visual Effects! Virtual Production reshaping the pipeline.
DESIGN: Design was never software-dependent. It was problem-solving using the most efficient and economical method. Here’s a list of AI tools you can use to make your design life easy.
TECH: Wouldn’t read too much into the latest Whatsapp-Facebook info-sharing scandal as that assumption was sort of a no-brainer. It was happening and will continue to happen and hardly ever it might affect us.- the lay people. If you are still skeptical, try signal! Elon musk recommends :)
